Sumac locks records to ensure that only a single user can edit a record at once. When a second person tries to edit a record, they receive a notification that another user is already editing the record.
If, while the record is still being edited, Sumac is terminated or the computer crashes, the record is left locked. Later, when someone tries to edit the locked record, Sumac prevents the record from being used, thinking it is still in use. Sumac has a command to fix this specific problem and clear any locks in your database.

Before clearing locks, make sure that no one at your organization is logged into Sumac.
Log in as a Sumac administrator and expand the Utilities menu in the Sumac console. Under Sumac Administration, click "Unlock Records" and select the records you want to unlock.
C
lick OK to confirm that you want to unlock all records.
